Money, Money, Money!

With our last test happening this week, we will get to move onto some SECOND GRADE work! First we will be learning all about MONEY!
Here are some sites and apps that you can get on at home for further practice! This is great to tie into Economics, which we are starting this week in Social Studies.

Google Docs....FOR STUDENTS!
When I use Google Docs to plan lessons, make assessments, and share with other teachers; it never occurred to me that students could benefit from this great tool as well!
When we start to learn more and more about our ocean animals we will begin to have Google Doc chats with Mrs. Wolff's class using the Google Doc app and our iPads! The app is FREE check it out! Check out Mrs. Wolff's website! Students will be able to chat with other students (from a few rooms down) about what they are learning about! We will be able to use all of our writing goals when typing our responses! I am very excited to try this new idea out! I will post pictures once we start!

Ocean Animal Research Projects!
Standards Set Reading and Writing--OCEAN UNIT |

Our standards we will be covering over the next couple weeks are in the blue box! We can do so much at this time of the year! I can't wait to see all of our hard work come together and read these reports!!
Our anchor text will be Manfish, a true story of an underwater explorer (just like we will be). Go find it at your local library. We are going to be just like the famous Jacques Cousteau and head to the depths of the library and internet to find the best information to read about ocean animals!
